Owned initially by the Boston Herald-Traveler Corporation, it broadcasts on Channel 5. The third commercial television station to air in New England, it is initially a CBS network affiliate, becomes an ABC affiliate in 1972, an NBC affiliate in 1995, and an independent station on January 1, 2017.
